Support

Sember has no accounts and no server, so there is not much that can go wrong on our end — but if something is off, write to us and a person will read it.

Moving your practice to another device

Your sessions, journal, and settings live on the device you practised on. To carry them across:

  1. On the old device, open Settings and choose Export. A single .json file is saved.
  2. On the new device, open Settings and choose Import, then pick that file.

The same two steps apply if you clear your browser storage, switch browsers, or move between the web version and the desktop app. Older backup files still import — the app reads the file's contents, not its name.

Using Sember offline

The web version caches itself on your first visit, and each piece of narration is kept once you have heard it. After you have played a session through, that session will replay with no connection at all. The desktop app ships every word of narration inside it and never touches the network.

The audio doesn't play

Most browsers will not start audio until you have interacted with the page — press Begin rather than expecting sound on load. If a session is silent after that, check your device is not on silent or muted, then reload the page once; the app re-fetches anything missing from its cache.

Sessions stop when the screen turns off

Sessions are built to keep playing with the screen dark. If your phone is aggressive about suspending background audio, adding Sember to your home screen as an installed app rather than a browser tab usually resolves it.

Starting over

Settings has an option to erase everything and begin again. It cannot be undone, so export first if there is any chance you will want your journal back.

Reporting something

Because the app collects nothing, we have no logs and no crash reports to look at — which means your description is genuinely all we have. Anything you can tell us helps: what you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead.
